Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel
All teachers licensed in the state of Virginia must complete the Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel.
Proficiency of the Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel is required for teaching certification and renewal.
Employees returning to teaching after a hiatus, those who have earned a teaching certificate from a college/university in another state, or any current employees who have not yet demonstrated TSIP proficiency will need to complete a TSIP portfolio in order to meet this requirement. The Virginia Department of Education requires that TSIP certification must be completed in the first year of teaching. This will be indicated on your teaching certificate.
