Parents of ALL RISING 6th grade students--NOTICE!
To the Parent/Guardian of all rising 6th Graders for the school year 2013-2014
Your child is required by the State of Virginia to have a Tetanus-containing vaccine within five years of entering 6th grade.
The 2013-2014 school year begins on August 20, 2013. If your child has not had a vaccine containing Tetanus since August 20, 2008, they will need to have this administered before entering school.
According to the Code of Virginia § 32.1-46--A booster dose of Tdap vaccine shall be administered prior to entering the sixth grade if at least five years have passed since the last dose of tetanus toxoid.
Please take this into consideration as you make visits to your child’s health care provider, as this may be administered at any time between now and the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year.
