HHS Raises $2,800
After the devastating earthquake hit the nation, the Harrisonburg High School Key Club began a fast-paced effort to raise money for the island nation, bringing in about $2,800 for the country’s relief efforts. Key Club member Marwah Bani- Hani described a “hectic” scene as the group scrambled to start raising funds for Japan. The students assembled several donation boxes to leave in each homeroom class. “We had, like, one day to figure out what we were going to do,” said Bani-Hani, 18. The school held its drive for the two weeks before spring break, Key Club adviser Tony Antonnicola said.
